  When a problem comes along......

Personal problems come from layers of ordinary  living -  relationship development, social/economic challenges, cultural or religious differences, mental health struggles, and so on. Effective counselling (for instance:  couples counselling, personal therapy, mindfulness training, simple and complex problem solving) should help lead to a better life .

I recognise the client as someone who usually has more strengths than they imagine. They sometimes need strategies to unlock or release their abilities to make the changes they need to make. They may also need additional skills and "roadmaps" to recovery.

As well as a wide area of counselling practice,  I am also a mental health counsellor, often called "allied health professional". The reference to mental health ought not be so scary. Sometimes an assessed condition helps to fine tune the counselling focus and approach.

I am committed to a safe and ethical approach to counselling. I recognise that it is a brave step to engage in counselling with someone (the counsellor) who is probably a complete stranger.

I am Medicare registered under the ‘Better Access’ program.

No referral is necessary for counselling. A referral from a G.P. inecessary, however, for Medicare rebates, and is subject to Medicare guidelines in regard to mental health issues. (Return and ongoing clients)
